    Cancellation Policy

    Plans change. Here is exactly how cancellations, refunds, and reschedules work across NipponX day trips.

    Each tour on NipponX sets its own cancellation window, shown clearly before you pay. This page explains our general terms and what to expect when you cancel, reschedule, or are affected by an operator cancellation. The specific terms for your booking always take precedence.

    1. Overview

    Free cancellation window

    Most NipponX day trips can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time, with a full refund to your original payment method. Some tours carry stricter terms set by the operator — the exact cancellation window for your booking is always shown on the tour page and in your confirmation email before you pay.

    Where to check your terms

    Open your booking under Profile → Trips, or refer to your confirmation email. The cancellation deadline and any applicable fees are listed there in your local time zone.

    2. Refund Schedule

    More than 24 hours before

    Cancel more than 24 hours before the start time and you receive a 100% refund of the tour price. Booking fees, where charged, are refunded in full within this window.

    Within 24 hours

    Cancellations made inside the 24-hour window are generally non-refundable, as guides and capacity have already been committed. Some operators may offer a partial refund or a free reschedule at their discretion.

    No-shows

    Failing to arrive at the meeting point without prior notice is treated as a no-show and is not eligible for a refund.

    3. How to Cancel or Reschedule

    Self-service

    Go to Profile → Trips, open the booking, and select Cancel or Reschedule. You will see your refund amount before you confirm. Rescheduling, where the operator allows it, moves your booking to another available date at no extra cost provided the new date is the same price.

    If you cannot cancel online, or your circumstances are exceptional, email us at info@nipponx.jp with your booking reference and we will assist you as quickly as possible.

    4. Weather & Operator Cancellations

    Cancellations by the operator

    If a tour is cancelled by the operator — due to severe weather, insufficient participants, or unforeseen circumstances — you will be offered a free reschedule or a full refund, including any booking fees. We notify you by email and in-app as soon as the operator confirms.

    Partial disruptions

    If a tour goes ahead but a portion cannot be delivered as described, the operator may offer a partial refund proportionate to the affected portion of the experience.

    5. Refund Timing

    When you'll see the money

    Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method. Depending on your bank or card provider, refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days of approval. Refunds processed via Wise or PayPal may settle faster.
