4. Payment Currency
Unless otherwise stated, all prices displayed on our website are in Japanese Yen (JPY). If you pay using a card issued in another currency, your bank or card issuer may apply exchange rates or foreign transaction fees. These charges are determined by your financial institution and are not controlled by Nippon X.
5. Full Payment Requirement
Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise stated. A booking is considered confirmed only after the payment has been successfully authorized and received, tour availability has been confirmed (where applicable), and a booking confirmation email has been issued by Nippon X.
6. Secure Payment Processing
All online payments are processed through secure third-party payment service providers using industry-standard encryption and security technologies. Nippon X does not store your complete credit or debit card number, card security code (CVV), or other sensitive payment credentials on our servers.
7. Pricing Accuracy
We make every effort to ensure pricing is accurate. However, in the event of a pricing error caused by technical issues, typographical mistakes, or system malfunctions, Nippon X reserves the right to correct the error, cancel an affected booking before confirmation, or offer the customer the option to proceed at the correct price. If a payment has already been collected for an unavailable service or an obvious pricing error, a full refund will be issued.
8. Taxes and Fees
Unless otherwise specified, prices shown on our website include applicable Japanese consumption tax where required by law. Any additional government taxes, entrance fees, optional activities, or personal expenses not specifically listed in the tour description remain the responsibility of the customer.
9. Booking Confirmation
After successful payment, customers will receive a booking confirmation by email. If you do not receive your confirmation within a reasonable period, please contact us at info@nipponx.jp.
10. Payment Verification
To protect customers and prevent fraudulent transactions, Nippon X may perform reasonable payment verification checks before confirming a booking. Where additional verification is required, customers may be asked to provide information confirming their identity or payment authorization. Failure to complete requested verification may result in cancellation of the booking and a refund where appropriate.
11. Failed or Declined Payments
A booking is not confirmed if payment is declined, cancelled, or otherwise unsuccessful. Common reasons for declined payments include insufficient funds, incorrect payment details, expired payment cards, security restrictions imposed by the card issuer, and payment provider risk controls. Customers should contact their financial institution if they experience payment issues.
12. Refunds
Refunds are handled in accordance with our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Approved refunds are generally processed within 5-10 business days after approval. The time required for the funds to appear in your account depends on your bank or payment provider. Refunds will normally be returned to the original payment method used during booking.
13. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If you believe there has been an error with your booking or payment, please contact Nippon X before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback. We are committed to resolving legitimate concerns promptly and fairly. If a chargeback is initiated after services have been provided in accordance with our Terms & Conditions and applicable policies, Nippon X reserves the right to provide relevant booking records, communications, payment confirmations, and other supporting documentation to the payment processor for dispute resolution.
14. Fraud Prevention
Nippon X reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or cancel bookings where we reasonably believe that fraudulent activity has occurred, unauthorized payment methods have been used, false information has been provided, payment security has been compromised, or the transaction presents an unacceptable risk. Where appropriate, payments associated with cancelled fraudulent bookings may be refunded to the original payment method after investigation.
15. Third-Party Payment Providers
Payments are processed by independent payment service providers. While Nippon X carefully selects reputable payment partners, we are not responsible for interruptions, delays, or technical failures arising solely from third-party payment systems beyond our reasonable control.
16. Promotional Discounts and Gift Cards
Where offered: promotional codes must be used before completing payment; discounts cannot be applied after a booking has been confirmed; promotional offers may have expiration dates and specific terms; and gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless required by applicable law.
17. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for ensuring that payment information is accurate, sufficient funds are available, payment cards are valid and authorized for online transactions, and billing information provided is correct. Providing false or unauthorized payment information may result in cancellation of the booking and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
18. Policy Updates
Nippon X may update this Payment Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business operations, payment methods, or legal requirements. The updated version will be published on our website with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our website or services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Payment Policy.
