About Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine
A 1,900-year-old Shinto shrine that marks the historic northern trailhead of the Mt. Fuji pilgrimage. Towering 1,000-year-old cedars, moss-covered stone lanterns and a great red torii give the approach a deeply atmospheric, sacred calm.
